Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Class Gift Orders app for Wix ("the app") handles information. The app is made by Adam Rowe ("we"). Contact: classgiftorders@fastmail.com.

Who is in charge of the information

The app is installed by a Wix site owner, such as a school's parent association, to take gift orders on their own website. The site owner decides what to sell and who sees the orders, so the site owner is responsible for the personal information their customers enter. Their own privacy notice, shown in the order box, explains how they use it.

We do not run any servers or databases of our own. The app runs entirely on Wix's platform, inside the site owner's Wix account.

What the app handles, and where it is kept

What customers enter when they order: their child's name and class, the name of each person a gift is for, and any optional notes (such as present preferences). These are saved by Wix as part of the customer's order, in the site owner's Wix orders. Customers' names, email addresses and payment details are collected by Wix's own checkout, not by the app.

The shop's settings: the shop name, class list, items, prices and dates, saved in a data collection in the site owner's own Wix site.

Orders: when a site owner or their helpers open the app's page in their Wix dashboard, the app reads the site's orders to build the helpers' sheet and labels. The sheet is built on screen each time and is not stored by the app. Spreadsheets and printouts are created only when the site owner downloads or prints them.

On the customer's device: if the customer's cookie settings allow functional cookies, the order box remembers the children they've added on that device, so they don't have to type them again. This stays in their browser and is never sent to us. The customer can remove a remembered child with the × next to their name.

What we do not do

We do not receive, see or store any customer's personal information. We do not use analytics or advertising tools, do not sell or share information, and do not use it for anything other than running the app on the site owner's behalf. The app does not record personal information in its logs.

What the app can access in Wix

When a site owner installs the app, Wix asks them to allow it to read and manage the site's eCommerce data (needed to add gifts to the basket, check orders at checkout, read orders for the helpers' sheet, and create the free test-order discount) and to read basic site details (such as the site's currency).

Keeping and deleting information

Orders stay in the site owner's Wix account for as long as they keep them; they can archive or delete them in Wix. Removing the app stops it reading the site's data. The shop settings can be deleted by the site owner from their site's data collections.

Your rights

If you ordered through a site that uses this app, please contact that site's owner (their details are in the privacy note in the order box) to see, correct or delete your information. You can also contact us at classgiftorders@fastmail.com, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you're in the UK.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the date at the top.
